Frequently Asked Questions
After sending an inquiry, we'll schedule a 1:1 consultation to discuss your project. Then, you'll receive a project proposal with up to three custom packages to choose from. I'll also send a copywriting guide and asset checklist so you'll know EXACTLY what you need to prepare before you even book.
When you're ready to book, you'll need to sign a services agreement and pay a 20% retainer to reserve your project dates.
Before your project kickoff, you'll need to prepare all assets for the website. This includes all photography, copywriting, and brand assets (EXCEPT if you've booked a branding add-on). The required brand assets are fonts (as .WOFF files) and a color palette at a minimum. If you intend to use a logo or any other graphic elements, please have them prepared before kickoff.
If you do not have a logo, no worries at all! We'll list your business name in live text using your primary font.
What should we expect from your booking process?
We require a 20% retainer to book. The remaining amount is split into bi-weekly payments starting one day before your project kickoff up to delivery. If your project is estimated to take 2 weeks or less, your remaining balance will be due the day before kickoff.
Do you offer payment plans? Do you require a deposit?
Nope! We're more than happy to work with any small business or creative if it makes sense for their website to be made in Showit.
Do you only work with photographers?
A gallery portfolio is a single-page with one gallery showing all your portfolio images. It may also include category filters (ie. couples, weddings, travel, etc.). See an example of a portfolio gallery here.
Our Showit templates feature premium portfolios. It includes a portfolio page with a list of projects (similar to a blog listing page). Each entry has it's own page with rearrangeable text, images, and gallery blocks. This setup allows you to showcase the story of the wedding, session, or project in an elevated, editorial format. It provides considerably more creative freedom than a WordPress blog post and allows you to create beautiful, editorial layouts for each entry.

What is the difference between a gallery portfolio and a premium portfolio?
Absolutely! But, we have to follow a strict process to make it work. That is why I limit the pages and layout customizations for this service. Although you'll have access to the full template, Palmer House will only design a minimal number of pages and canvases. Essentially, just enough to get you a simple yet professional website up and running for your business.
